Aft 20mm battery on USS Nicholas (DD-449)
Here we see the aft 20mm gun battery mounted on the fantail of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Nicholas (DD-449). Here we have three single 20mm guns all mounted within a single gun pit, probably added at the start of 1944 when she underwent a refit at San Francisco.
