USS Monaghan at Mare Island, 1942
Here we see the Farragut class destroyer USS Monaghan at Mare Island on 13 October 1942 with recent modifications to her circled. The Monaghan had returned to Mare Island after suffering damage in a collision in the Aleutians. Some work was carried out at Dutch Harbor and then at Pearl Harbor, before the repairs and modifications were completed on the west coast.
