USS Macomb (DD-458) commissioning, Boston, 1942
Here we see the Gleaves class destroyer USS Macomb (DD-458) being commissioned at the Boston Naval Yard on 25 January 1942. Note that the depth charge racks are already installed in this wartime picture, greatly reducing the amount of space available for the ceremony.
