Crew swimming off USS Leyte (CV-32), 1950
Here we see some of the crew of the Essex class carrier USS Leyte (CV-32) using the deck elevator as a diving board off Augusta, Sicily, on 27 May 1950. A few months later the carrier was fighting in the Korean War, a very different activity!
