Here we see Rear Admiral Gerald F. Bogan, commander of TG 38.2, in the Flag Plot Space on the Essex class carrier USS Lexington (CV-16) during operations in the western Pacific in January 1945 when she was supporting the fighting in the Philippines and taking part in raids on airfields on Luzon and Formosa. .
