USS Howorth (DD-592) being expended, 1962
Here we see the Fletcher class destroyer USS Howorth (DD-592) being expended during torpedo trials off San Diego on 8 March 1962. By this point she had been out of commission for over 15 years so would still have been in her Second World War configuration.
