Port-aft view of Island, USS Hornet (CV-8)
Here we see the aft end and port side of the island on the Yorktown carrier USS Hornet (CV-8) at 28 February 1942 at Portsmouth, Virginia, not long before she departed for the Pacific to take part in the Doolittle Raid.
