Hanger of USS Hornet (CV-8) while fitting out
Here we see the hanger deck of the Yorktown carrier USS Hornet (CV-8) on 19 October 1941 while she was fitting out at Newport News Shipbuilding. This gives us a rare change to see the hanger empty of aircraft and gives a good idea of just how large it was.
