USS Harry E Hubbard (DD-748) being launched
Here we see the Allan M Sumner class destroyer USS Harry E. Hubbard (DD-748) being launched at Staten Island on 24 March 1944. She was used as a training ship for some time, but did reach the war zone in time to take part in the fighting around Okinawa in 1945.
