USS Gyatt (DD-712), 1953
Here we see the Gearing class destroyer USS Gyatt (DD-712) anchored on 10 June 1953, two years before she was converted into the world's first guided missile destroyer. At this point she is largely in her original configuration, and her torpedo tubes can be seen between the funnels.
