Damaged port side, USS Franklin (CV-13), 1945
Here we see some of the damage caused to the port side of the Essex class carrier USS Franklin (CV-13) by two bombs from a Yokosuka D4Y dive bomber off Japan on 19 March 1945. This picture was probably taken after she returned to New York in April 1945 for full repairs.
