Damaged USS Frank Evans (DD-754) in dry dock, 1969
Here we see the Allen M Sumner class destroyer USS Frank Evans (DD-754) in the floating dry dock USS Windsor (ARD-22) at Subic Bay. Her stern was cut off in a collision with the Australian carrier HMS Melbourne, but the front half was safely towed bacy to Subic Bay. Some thought must have gone into repairing her, as a temporary stern had been installed by the time she was decommissioned on 1 July 1969.
