Crewman being transferred from USS Fanning (DD-385)
Here we see Boatswain's Mate First Class Glenn M. Smith being moved from the Dunlap class destroyer USS Fanning (DD-385) to the Baltimore class heavy cruiser USS Baltimore (CA-68) on 6 February 1943 to have an infected tooth treated. The larger ship will have had more extensive medical facilities than the destroyer, clearing including a dentist.
