Here we see the Allen M Sumner class destroyer USS English (DD-696) in the China Sea in January 1945, whe she was supporting the carriers during a series of raids on Formosa, Luzon, Okinawa and Indo-China, in support of the invasion of Lingayen Gulf. In the background is the carrier USS Hancock (CV-19).
