Aft guns of USS Delaware (BB-28), 1913
Here we see the aft guns of the Delaware class battleship USS Delaware (BB-28), arranged in three twin turrets. Note the sub-calibre spotting rifles on top each barrel, which were meant to have similar balistic performance to the main guns, allowing them to be used to judge the range of shot.
