Here we see the Allen M Sumner destroyer USS USS Compton (DD-705) from above off New York, on 25 October 1944. From this angle we can see her original layout, with two twin turrets at the front and one at the rear, widely seperated torpedo tubes, and depth charge rails on the stern. This picture was taken before she was officially commissioned on 4 November.
