Crewmens mess on USS Cassin (DD-372)
Here we see a crewmans mess on the Mahan class destroyer USS Cassin (DD-372) in the autumn of 1941, before she was badly damaged during the attack on Pearl Harbor. This mess was clearly up against the hull, which gives it the sloping wall on the right, and is also rather narrow, demonstrating how little space there was on these destroyers.
