Cleaning 5in gun, USS Brown (DD-546), 1944
Here we see a crewman cleaning the rear 5in gun of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Brown (DD-546), on 14 October 1944, after a raid on Formosa. This gives us a good idea of the real size of this gun, as well as the rear anti-aircraft gun nest, and part of the depth charge launcher.
