Survivors from USS Benham (DD-397) on Espiritu Santo
Here we see some of the crew from the Benham class destroyer USS Benham (DD-397) safely on Espiritu Santo after their ship split in half while attempting to reach safety after being damaged during the naval battle of Guadalcanal (13-15 November 1942). The entire crew survived the loss of their ship.
