Here we see the Fletcher class destroyer USS Albert W Grant (DD-649) in 1945, a year that started with her undergoing repairs at Mare Island, then saw her carry MacArthur on a tour of the Philippines, take part in the invasion of Balikpapan, Borneo, end the war in the Aleutians and take part in the occupation of Japan.
