Dakotas of RAF Transport Command in Belgium

Dakotas of RAF Transport Command in Belgium
Here we see a large group of Dakotas of RAF Transport Command on an airfield in Belgium, being unloaded into lorries that have reversed up to the cargo door. This shows one of the problems of the Dakota compared to later transport aircraft - the awkward location of the cargo door on the side of the aircraft, at an angle, making loading and unloading the aircraft slower than on transport aircraft with a big, low level rear loading hatch.
