Formation of eight Curtiss P-40s
This formation of Curtiss P-40s is probably made up of the early Allison powered versions - the P-40, P-40B or P-40C, which had the smaller air scoop below the nose and a gap between the upper air intake and the spinner. On later Allison powered versions the gap between the upper intake and spinner was removed and a larger scoop added below the nose.
