Prototype of Bell P-39 Airacobra
Here we see the prototype of the Bell P-39 Airacobra in flight. Note the exhaust pipes and air intake behind the cockpit, external evidence of the unusual engine position in the Airacobra. The car door style cockpit door can also be seen here.
