M4A3(76) Sherman in Frankfurt-on-Main
Here we see a group of US infantry advancing into Frankfurt-on -Main, supported by an M4A3(76) Sherman. This was the most command version of the 76mm armed Sherman in the US Army, and can be indentified by the combination of the shape of the back of the turret and the angular welded hull. From this angle the commander's vision cupola can be seen (the slight dome on the turret), as can the original Vertical Volute Suspension System (VVSS).
