Boeing F-13A Superfortress from above
The original wartime caption in the US Recognition Magazine claims that this was one of the F-13A photo-reconnaissance conversions of the B-29 Superfortress. However aircraft 42-6242 served in India where she was converted into a flying tanker and named as the 'Esso Express'. This picture looks to have been taken somewhere in the United States, and was probably chosen to illustrate the general type rather than as a specific example of the F-13.
