This close-up shows us a North American B-25J of the 491st Bombardment Squadron, somewhere in the skies over China. The B-25J can be identified by the combination of the glazed nose, front mounted dorsal turret, twin rear guns and casemated waist guns.

These pictures come from the collection of Sydney Lester, who served as a Staff Sergeant in the 491st Bombardment Squadron (341st Bombardment Group). Many thanks to his son Ron Lester for providing us with this pictures.
