88mm gun and 17-pounder gun, Cagny, 1944
Here we see British troops sheltering behind a captured German 88mm gun near Gagny, probably in mid-July 1944. Cagny fell to the Allies on 19 July during Operation Goodwood. In the background a British 17-pounder anti-tank gun is firing on unseen German tanks, while British armour can be seen on the plain in the far background.
