British 4.2in Mortar Team, Cassino, 1944
Here we see a British 4.2in Mortar team surrounded by a mass of mortar shells in shell containers, apparently just before the mortar was about to fire. The mortar was being used on the Cassino front during the fourth battle of Cassino.
