Liberator Mk VI, 357 Squadron, RAF China Bay,Ceylon

Here we see a Liberator VI of No.357 Squadron, with the factory installed nose turret, at RAF China Bay, Ceylon. The upper turret appears to have been removed, perhaps to improve the range of these aircraft, which were used over Burma.

Many thanks to Ken Creed for sending us these pictures, which were taken by his wife's uncle Terry Ruff during his time with No.357 Squadron, a special operations unit that operated over Burma, Malaya and Sumatra.
