Rear Guns on B-25Cs of 321st BG

This photograph from the the 321st Bombardment Group's post-war 'Headlines' pamphlet focuses on the rear guns on a modified B-25C Mitchell. Aircraft 264514 was a B-15C-20, but the aircraft had been modified to add side guns in the rear doors, and the ventral turret below the fuselage has been removed.

This document comes from a pamphlet produced by the 321st Bombardment Group after the war, which told the story of the group's activities from 15 March 1943-15 March 1945 in the form of a newspaper.

Many thanks to Christine Stewart for sending us this document, which came from the collection of her father in law Eugene W. Stewart, a staff sergeant in transportation with the 321st Bombardment Group.

The original captions reads: 321ST BOMBERS! THEY HAVE AND ADDED PUNCH! The waist and tail guns as installed in all 321st bombers may be seen clearly in this shot. The lower turret has been removed from the modified B-25's.
