321st B.G. Headlines page 11 - 14 December 1943
Page eleven of the 321st Bombardment Group's post-war 'Headlines' pamphlet focuses on a change of command, with Colonel Robert D. Knapp who was soon promoted to command the 57th Bomb Wing being replaced by Lt Colonel Charles T. Olmsted, who was promoted from within the group. Lt Colonel Olmsted commanded the group from 5 December 1943 to 18 March 1944, when he was moved to the operations section of the 57th Wing HQ.
This document comes from a pamphlet produced by the 321st Bombardment Group after the war, which told the story of the group's activities from 15 March 1943-15 March 1945 in the form of a newspaper.
Many thanks to Christine Stewart for sending us this document, which came from the collection of her father in law Eugene
W. Stewart, a staff sergeant in transportation with the 321st Bombardment Group.
