25-pounder field guns, Knightsbridge Area, battle of Gazala
Here we see a 25-pounder field gun in action during the fighting in the 'Knightsbridge' area during the battle of Gazala (26 May-14 June 1942). The gun is firing on Axis vehicles somewhere off to the left. This picture also shows the No.27 Artillery Trailer used to carry a store of ammo. When the gun was moved, the trailer was attached to the prime mover and the gun to the trailer.
