SECTION 5

RADIO MODIFICATIONS

1. INSTALLATION DUAL RC-103 RADIO - MODIFICATION TB-4

The factory installed receiver BC-733D is moved from the right side of the plane between stations 5.1 and 5.2 and relocated on the left side between Stations 7.0 and 7.1.

An additional receiver BC-733D, is installed between Stations 7.0 and 7.1 on the left side of the plane adjacent to the relocated receiver

The BC-232A Control Box remains as installed by the factory at Station 1.2 and the left side of the plane.

A Switch, AN3022-3, is installed just aft of the BC232A control box. This switch is for the "Let Down" and "Land" positions and is connected to the control box.

The IN-101 indicator remains as installed by the factory on the pilot's instrument panel.

A switch, AN3027-3, is installed on the main instrument panel just to the left of the artificial horizon indicator. This is a three position switch for "Let Down", "Audio" and "Land" positions and is connected to the IN-101 indicator.

The antenna, AS-27/ ARN-5 remains as installed by the factory on top of the plane between Stations 6.1 and 6.2

A circuit breaker, AN3161-P10, to control the power unit is installed on the radio power junction box, located just aft of Station 4.0 on the right side of the plane.

A condenser, 3DKB1250, for the additional receiver, is mounted on Station 1.2 just below the BC-232A control box. The factory installed 3DKB1250 condenser for the relocated receiver remains as installed at Station 4.2 in the right-hand life raft compartment.

A resistor, RS-125, is installed on a Q-2 terminal just forward of Stations 1.2 on the left-hand side of the plane. The factory resistor RS-125, remains as installed in the right-hand life raft compartment.

2. INSTALLATION SCR-522 RADIO -- MODIFICATION TB-5

A CS-80 case, to hold the BC-625 transmitter and the BC-624 receiver, is installed on the floor of the radio operator's compartment on the left-hand side of the ship, just after of Station 4.0.
